這門課主要是檢討新自由主義經濟全球化的來臨所導致的社會發展新問題，尤其是社會福祉、社會機會，和分配正義。
首先，我們將檢視全球資本積累的歷史轉型。其次，我們將針對全球化機制對當代社會發展的影響加以分析，相關的重要議題包括：1)企業實踐與國家競爭力、2)經濟自由化與全球金融危機、3)金融危機的社會政治衝擊、4)再思考全球社會正義、5)在地化與全球管制體制、6)市場、國家與分配正義、7)企業社會責任與全球經濟治理、8)在地文化轉向，和9)全球資本主義新面貌。
The aim of this seminar is to examine how the advent of neo-liberal economic globalization has impacted on social development, especially in terms of social well-being, social access and distributive justice.
The subject will begin with an investigation into the historical transformation of global capital accumulation. This will be followed by an assessment of the mechanisms of globalization and its impacts on contemporary social development, More specifically, the following issues will be critically examined: 1)corporate praxis and international competitiveness; 2)economic liberalization and the global financial crisis; 3)socio-political fallouts of the financial crisis; 4)rethinking global social justice, 5)localization and global regulatory regime; 6)market, the state and distributive justice; 7)corporate social responsibility and global economic governance; 8)local cultural turn and; 9)the new face of global capitalism.
